Conference on Mediation

An educational tour was organized by the school for the students of classes XI and XII on 27th November 2019. The students were taken for the tour of the court premises. They also attended a special seminar on Mediation process. Students asked many questions from the lawyers and witnessed live court proceedings. The tour was designed to enhance their practical experience.

Integrated program called 'SWAG'

An integrated program called 'SWAG' : Simply Wonderful and Amazing Girls was introduced to the girls to enable them to deal with stress and other adolescent issues. The interactive workshop was to enhance confidence among girls and was conducted by Procter and Gamble(P&G) on 28th November 2019. Resource person, Ms Harin Kaur, encouraged the girls to challenge their limits and have faith in their talent.

Science Quiz Competition (Topic Planets) Classes III-V

The science quiz aims to inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking amongst the students. SAM International School conducted a science quiz competition on 20th August 2019 for classes III-V on the topic "PLANETS". The teams were SUN, MOON, STAR, and GALAXY with 3 students each. The competition witnessed enthusiastic preparation and participation by the students.

Save the Environment assembly (III-B)

The threat to environment has increased alarmingly over the years. By keeping this in mind the morning assembly was conducted today by III B on the topic "SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT". The students shared their views through a skit in which they enacted the importance of environment and how our negligence towards it can even cost a life. They also recited a poem on conservation of Environment and shared many thoughts. The students got a very important message that they all owe duty and responsibility to make our Earth a cleaner and a safer place to live in for ourselves as well as for our next generations.

Sadbhawna Diwas assembly (XII C)

A special morning class assembly on the topic 'Sadbhawna Diwas' was conducted by the students of XII C on Tuesday 20/08/2019.

Speaking Skill Activity Farm Animals

Old MacDonald had a farm, E-I-E-I-O Every time this rhyme is played children merrily enjoy reciting it .Keeping this in mind, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School conducted Speaking Skill Activity on August 21, 2019 and the topic was ‘Farm Animals’ .Little learners excitedly spoke about different farm animals and their use by showing their colourful and attractive props.

Inter House Patriotic Song Competition

“Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong” An inter house patriotic song competition was organized by the middle and senior wing students of Sam International School. All the young maestros sang to their level best and made the competition a great success. The abundant energy and patriotic fervor of the children was depicted in their singing.

Discovering yourself

A special class assembly was organised by the students of class XII B on 16.08.2019. The theme of the assembly was “Discovering yourself”. A poem on self discovery was recited by Ashwarya Kainth. It emphasized that while people might sometimes feel lost , ultimately they with time do discover their hidden talents and self worth. The students were very enthusiastic and motivated with the topic.

Cooking Without Fire (Chef Caps)

Food is life, cooking is fun. Combine the two and you will discover that it is very easy to prepare a meal for oneself. The students of SAM International School donned their "Chef Caps" to exhibit their culinary skills in "COOKING WITHOUT FIRE" in the Inter-house Competition held on 27th August. The students discovered that cooking can be creative, easy and safe. They prepared Salad, Sandwich, Bhelpuri, and Sevpuri according to their houses. Children participated with full zeal and enthusiasm and also today they explored their hidden talents and discovered new areas of interest.

Tree Plantation Programme by IXth and Xth

Tree Plantation Programme If you save a tree, you save a life If you plant a tree, you plant a life. Plants play a vital role in maintaining the ecosystem of our planet. Plants are also used as medicine especially in ayurvedic treatment. Our school organized an extensive herbal plantation programme by IXth and Xth class students. The sapling of medicinal plants were planted in the herbal garden. The main aim of drive was to educate the students about the medicinal properties of herbal plants, their identification and spread the idea of greenery and importance of plants in our life to save our earth

Sports Stars in Taekwondo

“The golden boys”, this is the nickname given to the two promising young sports stars of Sam International School, Dwarka, sec-12. Piyush Priyam(XI C) and Shivam Drall(XII B) have once again proven their supremacy at 6th National Student Olympic Games held at Premnagar Ashram, Haridwar from 16th August-19 August, 2019 by winning gold medals in 68 kg Jr. Boys category and 63 kg Sr. Boys category in Taekwondo. Piyush also bagged one Silver medal in 1st Bhagwan Birsa Munda cup held at Ranchi Jharkhand from 23rd June -27th June.

Morning assembly of (class 1 G) National Sports Day

All you need is a bit of grit to become fit. To commemorate the birth anniversary of Maj Dhyan Chand the hockey wizard of India and to celebrate National Sports Day the students of class 1 G conducted the morning assembly on 29 August 2019. The students enumerated the work and life of Dhyan Chand and the importance of sports in ones life.

MORNING ASSEMBLY - IIIC (Topic: HONESTY)

MORNING ASSEMBLY was conducted by the students of III C today on the topic "HONESTY". It takes strength and courage to admit the truth. The students learnt this important message through thoughts, placards, charts, etc. In the end the students promised to be Honest with each other.

Speaking Skill : Topic Insects

Flitter, flitter, butterflies, fly up high, Up,Up,Up, in the blue sky!!” Insects are creepy and crawling but they are a crucial part of our ecosystem. To make children aware about different insects,this Wednesday on August 28,2019, the Speaking Skill topic was ‘Insects’. Little ones actively spoke about different insects by showing their attractive props.

Assembly Conducted By XI-A (Filtering the Noise)

ASSEMBLY ON FRIDAY 23RD AUGUST 2019 WAS CONDUCTED BY XI-A Assembly started with a ‘Gayatri Mantra’ and prayer ‘Humko man ki shakti dena’ sang collectively by students of XI and XII class. The prayer was followed by pledge conducted by Sakshi. The theme of Assembly ‘Filtering the noise was highlighted by Arav. “Creating noise pollution is easy but resolving impact of it is difficult”. Anjali Presented a beautiful self composed poem. ‘Filtering the noise’ that was a critic to noise pollution. Morning news was read by Vrinda Rajpal. Lastly National Anthem was sung by all the students collectively.

Cleanliness and Hygiene: Morning assembly (Class I F)

Cleanliness and Hygiene: It's not just a necessity but a way of life!! Morning assembly provides an excellent platform for the students to come forward and express themselves. It also helps to showcase their talent and overcome stage fear. The students of class I F conducted the morning assembly on 22 Aug 2019 on 'Cleanliness and Hygiene' with much confidence and aplomb. They enumerated the importance of cleanliness and hygiene via a small skit, thought and took a pledge to keep themselves and clean and stay happy life long!

You are not a drop in the ocean, You are the entire ocean in a drop Assembly on Tuesday 3 September 2019, was conducted by X A. Assembly started with ‘Gayatri Mantra’ and it was followed by prayer and pledge. The theme of assembly was “You are enough a thousand times enough” Anagh Bhargava delivered a speech on theme. Navya recited an inspiring poem. Morning news was read by Khushi. Lastly National anthem was sung by all the students collectively.

Special assembly Pre Primary (Angel bird)

“Magic Words that should cross our lips....... THANK YOU,SORRY & PLEASE." The importance of three magic words often goes unseen. To make the children learn the three magic words, a special assembly was conducted by Pre Primary( Angel bird) of Sam International School on September 3, 2019. They presented a small skit by using real objects which was indeed eye catchy. They enthusiastically recited a rhyme on magic words.

Assembly on Friday 30 Aug 2019, was conducted by XI C. Assembly started with 'Gayatri Mantra' and it was followed by prayer and pledge. The theme of the assembly was "Sarojini Naidu: The Nightingale of India" Vartika Sharma, Harshita Goswami and Sanjana delivered a speech on the theme. Morning news was read by Alok Kumar Jha. Lastly National Anthem was sung by all the students collectively.

PARLE Factory at Bahadurgarh Students Of Class III

Today was an auspicious day for students of class III as they went on an educational trip to PARLE factory at Bahadurgarh . As soon as they entered the factory they were filled up with mouth watering aroma of biscuits . At first they were shown a documentary film regarding the origin of 'Parle' and it's worldwide fame. Then they were taken to the manufacturing plant. There they observed all the process that turns flour into a biscuit . It involved different steps including kneading, mixing, molding, baking,cooling and finally packing. The complete unit was automated with modern design and keeping in mind the strict hygiene conditions . All in all the trip not only introduced with new techniques. Parle G (the G in which incidentally stands for GENIUS) is one of the oldest biscuit brands in India and the largest selling biscuit in the world. It was a propitious visit to the Parle Biscuit Factory at Bahadurgarh. The children were very excited on the bus ride from the school to the factory. Overall, it was an informative, knowledgeable and memorable trip for the students, The children had many stories to tell when they got home! So, it was a great day.

Special assembly by Pre School (Carnation & Bulbul)

“Students need a happy teacher, Who will make the little ones excited to come to school & will ensure love for learning.” We celebrate Teacher’s Day to express our gratitude and appreciation for our teachers. As a tribute to our teachers, a special assembly was conducted by Pre School( Carnation) and Pre Primary(Bulbul) of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on September 4, 2019. Students were briefed about Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a great educationist and a leader. They shared their views about the role of a teacher in student’s life.They all danced together to cherish memories forever. Tiny tots joyfully participated in card making activity to thank their lovely teachers for helping them in learning and growing.

Zonal Science Exhibition

Aastha Bhat and Vedika.S.Kumar of class XII A bagged 2nd position in "Zonal Science Exhibition" , which was held on 30 and 31st August 2019 at GBSSS, Sec-2, Site-1 Dwarka, N.D. The winning duo prepared models on Conic Section, Trigonometric Ratios and properties of polygons, under the able guidance of Senior Mathematics teachers. The theme of the competition was "Educational games and Mathematical Modeling" and the sub theme" Wonders of Geometry".

Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do

“Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do.” This was the theme of today’s assembly conducted communally by classes X-B and X-C. Arleen Kaur of class XC shared in her speech that tough people face all the challenges of life by focusing on the good aspects only. Students were fortunate enough to conduct this assembly on devout ‘Grandparents Day’. Following the convention of the assembly, students began with Morning Prayer to plead God to give peace and the strength in time of need to overcome challenges of life. Thought for the day was nicely presented by Chhavi of XB. Pledge by Srishti XC, news by Kriti XB presented agreeably. Students; with Abhidarshi XC, paid tribute to grandparents for being their perfect companions and valuable resources in life. Assembly ended with national anthem to remind nation’s glory and to salute the nation. Assembly was concluded in grand manner by assembly commander Ahana XB.

Innovative Teaching Techniques by “Curio” In Curio Conclave

“Teachers task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible” Another joyful moment for Sam International School as four teachers of Pre-Primary wing were awarded for their innovative teaching techniques by “Curio” in Curio Conclave – 2019 held at The Suryaa Hotel on September 7, 2019. Ms. Jaspreet Kaur for organized Curio Manager, Ms. Sarika Sharma for Most Animated Curio Facilitator, Ms. Jagjeet Sharma for stunning story teller and Ms. Bhawna Malhotra for Effective Curio Communicator. It was indeed a proud moment for Sam Family.

Teacher’s Day

On 5th of September 2019, Teacher’s Day was celebrated in the school and a thanksgiving programme was also organised to recognize the contribution of the educators. Four teachers were presented with the awards for their exemplary services in different fields of education: • Mrs. Kalpana Raghuvanshi, TGT English was awarded for her sincere services in media coordination of the school. • The second teacher in the row was Mrs. Shashi Bhatt, our IT Head. She was awarded for her contribution in smooth running of the Computer and IT wing of the school. • Next award was presented to Ms. Shalini Malik for her creativity and hard work in keeping the school decorated with beautiful artwork all the yearlong and for winning various awards for the school in inter-school competitions. • The last but not the least in the list was Mrs. Neelam Verma, PGT Pol Sci. who was awarded for her excellent contribution in class 12 pol sci. board results of the session2018-19. All four of them received a trophy and a certificate presented by the Hon. Chairman Sir. Respected Principal Mam applauded their efforts and the entire SAM Team congratulated them.

VALUE WEEK (Pre Primary Eagle)

The strongest form of communication, is Story Narration". Pre Primary wing of Sam International School is celebrating " VALUE WEEK" to develop values in the tiny tots. On September 13, 2019. Class Pre Primary ( Eagle) narrated the story ' Dia and her Teddy Bear' which emphasized the value of " Keeping the Surrounding Clean" and class Pre Primary ( Flamingo) narrated the story "Goldilocks and The Three Bears" with full voice modulation and expressions.

VALUE WEEK (Pre Primary Canary & Dove)

“ Stories are like children, They grow in their own way.” Children are very curious by nature, Story Narration helps in developing their curiosity and exercise their imagination. To inculcate values through story narration, Pre -Primary wing of Sam International School is celebrating “ VALUE WEEK “ from September 12,2019 till September 24,2019. Class Pre Primary (Canary) narrated the story “Dia and her Teddy Bear” which emphasized the value of ‘Cleanliness ‘and class Pre Primary (Dove) narrated the story “The Greedy Dog “which emphasized to ‘Be Happy with what you Have’. It was a fun and learning experience for the little Samites.

(Small Changes, Big impact) morning assembly conducted by the students of IX A

“Small Changes, Big impact” was the theme of the morning assembly conducted by the students of IX A Today Kriti elucidated examples which motivated the children to work optimistically and bring about small changes in their day to day life which would have bating impact on their lives. Abhinav delivered a speech on The Importance of Hindi Language in lieu of Hindi Diwas. Hindi is the most spoken language after Mandarin Chinese and is our national language. The commands were given by Sarvagya, thought was spoken by Aarav, pledge by Varun & the news was read by Gurpreet. The morning assembly was nicely organised for the students.

Value Week (Pre Primary Daffodil)

It is very well said..... Respect your elders & learn from them.” As Pre Primary wing of Sam International School is celebrating ‘Value Week’ , So to inculcate the value of love and respect a special assembly was conducted by Pre School ( Daffodil) on September 18, 2019. Little Samites depicted different family members and showed how to greet them. The assembly ended with a cheerful dance to show their love and affection towards the elders.

Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012

An initiative to create awareness among the educators of the school about the "Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012" was taken by the respected principal Mam, Ms. Karuna Verma and a Workshop was organised in the school premises on "POCSO" on 13th September 2019. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Lucky Puchhrat in liaison with HT. All the educators of Junior, Middle and Senior Wings attended the workshop in two sessions between 9am-1pm. Mr. Puchhrat introduced the topic in a very informative and interactive way through various activities and presentations . It concluded on a positive note with the educators taking a vow to be more cautious and sensitive while dealing with their kids at home and the students in school

Morning assembly (III-F) God helps those who help themselves

Morning assembly was conducted today by III-F on the topic "God helps those who help themselves". The assembly started with morning prayer followed by pledge, news and beautiful thoughts shared by the young ones. The students used charts, posters and banners.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Morning assembly was conducted today by the students of III D on the topic Ganesh Chaturthi. Assembly started with Gayatri Mantra and followed by prayer and pledge. The students performed a skit showing how Ganeshji got a fruit of wisdom - MANGO by his parents. The students got to know why and how Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated all around the country. Lastly a heart touching song was sung by the students for teachers in which they thanked their teachers and showed their love towards them.

Cultivate Love for Education

Morning Assembly was conducted today by the students of III E on the topic "CULTIVATE LOVE FOR EDUCATION". Assembly started with Gayatri mantra and followed by prayer, pledge, news and National Anthem. The students gave speech on the importance of Education and its necessity among the youth. The students used Placards and charts with beautiful holders.

Counseling workshop on Education in U.S.A

A counseling workshop on "Education in U.S.A" was organized inside the school campus on 12TH September 2019, in association with Wichita State University and State University of New York, by SIMPLED. The following dignitaries from these U.S Universities conducted the workshop and guided the students about the different options available in U.S.A after passing class 12th exams: • Chris Wright, Dean of Admissions, Massachusetts College of Art and Design • Dan Serig, Associate Vice President for academic affairs, Massachusetts College of Art and Design • Kate Friedrich, International Admissions Advisor, State University of New York • Sam Eastes , International Admissions Officer, Wichita State University • Mr. Yasir Ansari, Director and Co-Founder, SIMPLED The workshop concluded with an interactive session between the resource persons and the students.

Speaking Skill Activity

“ Summer wishes, winter dreams, Autumn leaves & monsoon greets.” The speaking skill activity, this Wednesday, September 25, 2019 was ‘Seasons’ . Tiny tots confidently spoke about seasons with the things they eat, drink and use. The kids also used props depicting different seasons.

Story Narration Activity Pre School (Aster)

“ Story Telling is all about connectivity.” To inculcate values among the tiny tots, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School continued with Story Narration Activity. Keeping the Value Week in mind,on September 23, 2019 Pre School(Aster) narrated the story ‘The Hare & The Tortoise’ emphasising on the value that ‘slow and steady wins the race‘ and Pre School( Bluebells)narrated the story ‘Chimpu and the Bunny’ emphasising on the value of ‘Personal Hygiene’. Little cherubs excitedly narrated the stories with their bright and colourful props.

Inter-House Group Dance Competition

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul”. Dance competition is a great way to build up an emotional resilience in a child. Dance competition increases self-confidence and self-esteem in children. It helps kids to overcome stage fear and face audience without any anxiety.The students of Sam International School (III-V) participated in an Inter-House Group Dance Competition, which was held on 18th September 2019. The four houses presented the traditional Indian dances (Sambalpuri, Tamil, Panjabi and Marathi). The children dressed up in colorful costumes and swayed to the beats of music. All the four houses performed wonderfully with great zeal and enthusiasm. The audience enjoyed every moment of the programme and highly complimented the efforts put in by all the dancers.

Gratitude Day

Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul .... From the air we breathe to the friendships we hold close,there is always something to be thankful for .To develop a constant feeling of gratitude the students of class I and II celebrated "Gratitude Day" on 20th September ,2019 to acknowledge and appreciate the favours and hard work of the helpers and support staff of their wing.The most laudable part was in the form of assembly in which children expressed their emotions through poems,short messages ,and songs. Such celebrations help children to cherish and express their thanks in a simple yet sincere way . Our honourable principal Ms Karuna Verma was overwhelmed to see such ethical and gratifying gesture of the little ones which filled everyone's heart with joy and contentment.

CBSE Central Zone Taekwondo Championship

Three shining stars of Sam have once again proved their metal in the Under- 17yrs category of CBSE Central Zone Taekwondo Championship, which was held from 24-27th September 2019 by winning two golds and one bronze medal. The winning trio is Arpan Kandari (XI A) who won Gold in below 78kg weight category, Piyush Priyam (XI C) won Gold in below 68kg weight category and Viraj (X B) won Bronze in below 59kg weight category. Arpan Kandari and Piyush Priyam have been further selected for CBSE National Taekwondo Championship, 2019-20 which is scheduled to be held in November 2019.

Career Counseling for the students of Class XII

The Principal organised a workshop on “Career Counseling” for the students of Class XII on 11th October 2019 conducted by Dr. Sunil Kumar Roy, Dean, School of management Sciences. It was an introductory programme to career planning, its importance and methodology. The resource person started the session with some real life experiences, which was enlightening for the students. Thereafter, he started an interactive session with the students asking their aims and aspirations in life. The students participated enthusiastically and it was an enriching experience.

“Sending your way a bouquet of happiness, To wish you all a very Happy Birthday!!” Our hearts feel all loved up as Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the birthdays of our August and September born kids on September 28,2019. They came dressed in beautiful dresses . The Samites happily cut the delicious birthday cake which was blessed by our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma. Children were happy to receive gifts and they excitedly danced on the tapping music . Some lucky parents also got gifts as they actively participated in games . The celebrations ended with the luscious refreshments.

MATH-A-THON- A QUIZZO

To engage and enlighten the students, an Inter House Maths Quiz - MATH-A-THON, A QUIZZO, was conducted on 11th September, 2019 for classes I and II. The participants of all the four houses were at their literary best. It provided an opportunity for the participants as well the audience to explore the world of mathematics .The event was graced by our honorable principal ma'am, Ms Karuna Verma, who appreciated the skills and efforts of our little explorers and gave her best wishes to them. Samridhi House won the competition and the participants were awarded with certificates and prizes.

Awareness about 'Vector Borne Diseases'

'VECTOR BORNE DISEASES' To spread awareness about 'Vector Borne Diseases' the students conducted various activities in the school premises. On 20th September, 2019 during the morning assembly, the students presented a street play and voiced their views through slogans. A rally was also taken out by the young activists. They laid emphasis on destroying the breeding sites of mosquitoes and taking precautionary measures to stay safe and healthy. Honourable principal ma'am Ms Karuna Verma further sensitized the students and urged them to be careful and cautious about the ill effects of Vector borne diseases.

“Satya ahinsa ka tha vo Pujari Kabhi na jisne himmat haari...” To uphold the value of love,peace and non -violence ,a special assembly was conducted on Oct 1,2019 by the students of SAM International School to mark the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of our great leader 'Mahatma Gandhi'. A devotional ambience prevailed as the programme started with a view of 'Sabarmati Ashram '. The whole arena was set as a museum which was inaugurated by our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms.Karuna Verma.She also discussed the ideologies of following the path of truth lead by Bapu.Children greeted her with the melodious song ' Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram'.To elevate the value of humanity students preformed a fascinating dance drama followed by a rally with number of heart touching and inspiring slogans.Further,children presented a skit in which they actively supported 'khadi' .Video portraying the life of Mahatma Gandhi was also shown to the students .The celebration concluded with the power packed dance performances and harmonious bhajan 'Vishnav Jan 'sung by the teachers . By celebrating the greatness of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri (the 2nd Prime Minister of India) who was also born on the same date, Samites pledged to adopt the way of life and principles of empathy ,humbleness and sincerity .

"Our Ocean,Our Future" Ocean is a home for water animals. Keeping this in mind and to make the Samites aware of different "Water Animals". A Special Assembly was conducted by Pre-Primary(Dove) of Sam International School on September 26,2019. Samites introduced different water animals along with their characteristics. They used eye catchy Props.

“Summer, winter, spring & rain, Makes a yearly seasonal chain.” To recapitulate seasons, a special assembly was conducted by Pre School ( Bluebells) of Sam International School on September 25,2019. Samites actively spoke about different seasons and excitedly recited the rhyme ‘ I hear thunder’ by using their colourful props along with the headgears.

To teach the little Samites about yellow colour, a special assembly was conducted by the classes Pre School( Bluebells) and Pre Primary( Flamingo). The arena was well decorated with yellow colour objects and the tiny tots dressed in yellow, holding objects in their hands confidently spoke about the bright colour. This activity ensures fun with learning.

“Happy Dussehra - The victory of good over Evil.” To mark Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana and reinforce the message that good always wins over evil, the Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the auspicious festival of Dussehra, as children came dressed in ethnic attire on October 4, 2019 .Our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma burnt the effigy of Ravana, she also sensitised the little ones about ‘ Not to burn Crackers’ . Children were also shown story of Dussehra which inspired them to follow the path of truth.

Stories helps to restore imagination

Keeping ‘ VALUE WEEK ‘ in mind, On September 24, 2019 Pre School ( Carnation) of Sam International School narrated the story ‘ The Magic Tree’ which emphasised on the value that ‘ Always use 3 magic words - Thank You, Sorry & Please and Pre School (Daffodil) narrated the story ‘ Tom & Jerry’ which emphasised on the value of ‘ Sharing and Caring’. It was a week full of values that were inculcated among the little ones.

Story Telling is all about connectivity

To inculcate values among the tiny tots, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School continued with Story Narration Activity. Keeping the Value Week in mind, on September 23, 2019 Pre School(Aster) narrated the story ‘The Hare & The Tortoise’ emphasizing on the value that ‘slow and steady wins the race‘ and Pre School( Bluebells) narrated the story ‘Chimpu and the Bunny’ emphasizing on the value of ‘Personal Hygiene’. Little cherubs excitedly narrated the stories with their bright and colourful props.

Prevention is better than cure.

To spread awareness related to ill effects of Water Prone Diseases among people, little activists of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School conducted a Rally, Samites actively raised their voices and spread awareness on how to keep our surroundings clean with the help of a skit, so as to avoid the breeding of mosquitoes due to stagnant water and water pollution. They also laid emphasis on taking precautionary measures like Odomos, all outs, roll ons, mosquito nets and sprays etc using their vibrant and colourful headgears and banners. Stories give wings to the ideas

“Stories give wings to the ideas.” To sow the seed of values among tiny tots, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School continued the Story Narration Activity. On September 20,2019 class Pre Primary( Angel Bird) narrated the story ‘The Greedy Dog’ which emphasised the value ‘to be happy with what you have’ and Pre Primary (Bulbul) narrated the story ‘Monkeys and The Capseller’ which emphasised on the value of ‘taking decision wisely’. Little narrators confidently narrated the stories by using their colourful props and eye catchy facial make up.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

We salute our flag, It makes us proud, We are Indians, Let’s say it loud.” The little nation lovers of Sam International School got together on the occasion of Independence Day celebration on August 13, 2019. To celebrate the glory with the patriotic fervour, a special assembly was conducted by Pre School (Carnation) and Pre Primary (Eagle), in which students actively presented themselves as freedom fighters of our nation and spoke few lines about them. Tiny tots presented a dance making their peer group aware about ‘Swachh Bharat’ and to make our nation clean. Holding tricolour in their hands, young patriots were told about the importance of Independence Day.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON RAKSHABANDHAN

"Rakhi is the thread that binds two souls (brother and sister) in a bond of love" To commemorate this festival, a special assembly was conducted by little samites of Pre-Primary Flamingo on August 21, 2019. Where they explained the importance of festival which strengthens the bond between brother and sister. Children also danced and recited a rhyme on Raksha Bandhan.

RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION

“Rakhi is a thread that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever .” HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan on August 14, 2019 with great enthusiasm. Little Samites wore colourful traditional dresses and they eagerly participated in Rakhi Making Activity. Children were told about the sacred bond between brother and sister. Girls tied Rakhi on the wrist of boys and boys gave chocolates in return. Children were full of joy which created a beautiful environment.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON JANMASTHMI

“Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal ki” ‘HAPPY JANAMASHTAMI ’ The premises of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School resonated with spiritual and traditional vibes as the Little Samites celebrated the birth of their beloved Laddoo Gopal ji by a special assembly conducted by Pre School( Bluebells) on August 23,2019. Children wished Happy Janamasthami by giving beautiful cards to our Honourable Chairman sir and Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma. The little ones depicted Lord Krishna’s childhood in different tableaus. The musical rendition of Lord Krishna and the decorated Matkis and flutes added to the festive spirit of the occasion. Children also enjoyed watching movie “Bal Krishna” and relished the prasad.

WORKSHOP ON STORY TELLING

“Learning is finding out what you already know.” The spirit of bettering oneself is what defines an educationist. As a part of this endeavour, Sam International School organised a workshop for the teachers of Pre School and Pre Primary on August 03, 2019. The resource person was Ms. Charu Bhardwaj ( Founder and CEO of skills and you ) and Ms. Simran. They emphasized on how to enhance the skills of the students by using various classroom activities. While Ms. Simran entailed hands on learning for the teachers by indulging them in how to make creative puppets and their story telling sessions more enjoyable for the kids. The workshop saw active participation of the teachers who shared their classroom experiences and showed commendable team spirit while narrating various stories.

One , One , One Let all the animals have fun!! On August 19, 2019 , Little Samites of Pre School( Aster) of Sam International School conducted a special assembly on the topic ‘Wild Animals’. Children confidently spoke about different wild animals and also gave knowledge about their home, sounds and about their young ones. Rhyme recited by tiny tots ‘ ek mota hathi’ was thoroughly enjoyed by the little ones.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON FARM ANIMALS

"Animals are a part of nature so love and care for them". Morning assembly at Sam International School is a platform to express our thoughts and feelings. A special assembly was conducted by samites of Pre-Primary Dove on 7 August 2019. Children talked about various farm animals along with different props. Children also recited Old Mac Donald rhyme confidently. They also emphasized that we need to be kind towards the animals.

"Good habits - The key to all success." The children entrusted to us are like seeds that need nourishment of values and education. On August 8,2019 special assembly was conducted by Pre-school Daffodil of Sam International School on the topic "Good Habits". Children talked about good habits and the golden words...please, sorry, thank you. Children also recited a rhyme on 'good manners'.

This Wednesday on July 31, 2019 the topic was “Water Animals”. It was a fun and learning experience for the little Samites.

This Wednesday on July 24, 2019, the topic was “Rainy Season”. Children excitedly performed and were happy to show their beautiful props. “White..... The colour of peace as it can easily mingle with all the colours to make them brighter.” WHITE COLOUR DAY The ability to identify colours is a crucial milestone in a child’s growth. As White is the colour which signifies purity,hope, cleanliness and innocence. Keeping this thought ‘White Colour Day’ was celebrated by the Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on September 16,2019. Samites dressed in beautiful white and holding white balloons proved that the day was a perfect blend of fun and learning.

Children excitedly spoke about different birds like peacock, pigeon, parrot, etc by displaying different props.

“ Slow and steady gets you where you want to go.” Since time immemorial, story telling has been an integral part of childhood. To keep the tradition going on and to incite curiosity among little ones, Pre School ( Bluebells) of Sam International School conducted a special assembly on July 23, 2019. The theme of the assembly was Story Narration( Role Play). Children graciously narrated the story ‘Hare and The Tortoise ‘. They made effective use of facial expressions, voice modulation, gestures and their props added cheery on the pie.

As a tribute to our teachers, a special assembly was conducted by Pre School( Carnation) and Pre Primary(Bulbul) of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on September 4, 2019. Students were briefed about Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a great educationist and a leader. They shared their views about the role of a teacher in student’s life.They all danced together to cherish memories forever. Tiny tots joyfully participated in card making activity to thank their lovely teachers for helping them in learning and growing.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON THREE MAGIC WORD

“Magic Words that should cross our lips....... THANK YOU,SORRY & PLEASE." The importance of three magic words often goes unseen. To make the children learn the three magic words, a special assembly was conducted by Pre Primary( Angel bird) of Sam International School on September 3, 2019. They presented a small skit by using real objects which was indeed eye catchy. They enthusiastically recited a rhyme on magic words.

SPEAKING SKILL ACTIVITY (INSECTS)

Flitter, flitter, butterflies,fly up high, Up,Up,Up, in the blue sky!!” Insects are creepy and crawling but they are a crucial part of our ecosystem. To make children aware about different insects,this Wednesday on August 28,2019, the Speaking Skill topic was ‘Insects’. Little ones actively spoke about different insects by showing their attractive props.

MOVIE TIME

“Let the good times roll.” Yipee it’s Movie time!! Adding movies along with the studies makes the children energetic. Keeping this in mind, kids favourite animated movie ”Beauty and the Beast” was organised for the little Samites of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on August 27, 2019 which was very entertaining for them.

HURDLE RACE

“Run , Run , Run have lots of fun.” Running hurdles helps in enhancing the gross motor skills of the children. Keeping this in mind,little Samites of Pre Primary excitedly participated in ‘Hurdle Race’ on July 23, 2019. Hurdle race was thoroughly enjoyed by the tiny tots. It was a day filled with excitement, shrills and cheers. Physical activities helps children to become energetic and bodily kinesthetic .

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON ORANGE COLOUR DAY

“Orange is the colour of courage & selflessness.” A special assembly was conducted by Pre School( Aster) of Sam International School On ‘Orange Colour Day’ on September 17,2019. Tiny tots were dressed in orange and were looking beautiful with their props. Children spoke confidently on different Orange colour objects and recited rhyme related to orange colour.

BLACK AND GREY COLOUR DAY

“Dark is black Light is white And grey is the door between Black and white” Colours are indeed the smiles of nature and with this objective the tiny tots of Pre School and Pre Primary of Sam International School celebrated Black and Grey colour day on Friday August 2, 2019. Pre School kids were dressed in Black and Pre Primary kids were dressed in Grey attire. Children spoke about different Black and Grey colour object to recognize these vibrant colours. They enthusiastically indulged themselves in various fun filled activities.

BIRTHDAY BASH (JUNE - JULY)

“ As birthdays come and go The wish is sent, to let you know, One year is over, another begun, Here hoping you’ll have lots of fun.” To welcome another adventure filled year, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School organised a fun filled birthday bash of June-July born little cherubs on July 27, 2019. The beautifully dressed little Samites celebrated their special day with their teachers, parents and peer group. Children were excited during cake cutting ceremony which was blessed by our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma, they also got wonderful gifts which made their day even more exciting. Some lucky parents also got surprise gifts as they eagerly participated in games. Music,dance and morsel brought a perfect end to such a memorable day.

Zonal Science Exhibition

"Zonal Science Exhibition" was held on 30 and 31st August 2019 at GBSSS, Sec-2, Site-1 Dwarka, N.D, the theme of which was "Educational games and Mathematical Modelling" and sub theme" Wonders of Geometry". Aastha Bhat and Vedika.S.Kumar of class XII A won 2nd position in the competition by preparing models on Conic Section, Trigonometric Ratios and properties of polygons.

"Zonal Hindi Debate" competition

"Zonal Hindi Debate" competition was held on 3rd September 2019 at GBSSS, Sec-2, Dwarka N.D. Kriti Singh and Dhriti Kapoor of class XB proved their metal in the competition by giving a tough fight to other contestants and finally winning 1st position. Back in the school, they received a round of applause by the entire SAM Team.

National Nutrition Week

National Nutrition Week “Feeding Smart From The Start!” The students of class I and II celebrated 'National Nutrition Week' from 2nd September to 6th September 2019. The students brought healthy and nutritious food and pledged to eat right and avoid junk food. As a special guest we had a visit by a doctor who further briefed them about the importance of eating healthy food. Honorable principal Ms Karuna Verma also interacted with the students and encouraged them to follow a healthy lifestyle.

STAR EDUCATOR” award

When you work hard with passion and dedication, success comes to you in the form of glory and recognition. Somewhat same happened with Mrs. Karuna Verma, our respected principal. For her farsighted approach and her dedication to her work, she received the “STAR EDUCATOR” award for Special Contribution in School Education in 5th Progressive Teacher Conclave held at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 31ST August 2019. The programme was organized by International Council for School Leadership and the Guest of Honour; Mr. Saurav Ganguly (former Indian Team Captain) presented her with this reputable award in front of the group of Educators.

Tree Plantation Drive

PLANTING A BETTER TOMORROW Under the aegis of our honorable principal Ms Karuna Verma and chairman Mr Praveen Kumar, the school partnered with MAX Healthcare and horticulture department of Delhi development for a plantation drive on 29th August 2019 at Dwarka. The Samites enthusiastically participated in and planted saplings. A team of doctors headed by director MAX Healthcare Geeta Kadayaprath along with Dr Deepak Gupta, Ms Reva Kumar, president Bliss Foundation, Mr Jamil Ahmad, Deputy Director DDA Dwarka were also present. This was a great opportunity to sensitize the young minds towards importance of trees for preserving our environment.

Good Touch / Bad Touch

The students of class 1 and 2 were sensitized about 'Good touch and Bad touch' by the school counsellor on 29 August 2019. She explained to the students how to differentiate and identify “bad touch” or other “uncomfortable behavior” from others. They were also given instructions on how should one react or respond in an uncomfortable situation.

1st Iran-India Friendship Students’ Competition 2019

1st Iran-India Friendship Students’ Competition 2019 was held in the month of July, the theme of which was – “A place in Iran that I would like to visit”. It was a painting competition and all the entries were sent by post. The result was declared on 15th of July, 2019, in which Yogita( XII C) and Amar Kumar Gupta ( IX B) of Sam International School, Dwarka sec-12 not only won the competition but also secured a place in top ten winners in the International Competition, thus making the school proud of their achievement.

Special Assembly Class XI

Students of class XI B of Sam International School, Dwarka conducted a Special Assembly on 27th August, 2019. Khushi Jain and Ajitha Jha delivered a beautiful speech on the theme” Arise Awake and Stop Not, till the Goal is Reached”. Shubham Pruthi delivered the day’s news and it was anchored by Nitish Kumar.

World Senior Citizen Day

World Senior Citizen Day World Senior citizen day is celebrated worldwide on 21st August. It was started to raise awareness about the factors and issues affecting older people. In order to pay respect ,offer gratitude to the elders who made our today possible and to instill values, morals and ethics in the young minds, the school organised a visit to 'Godhuli', a senior citizen home for the students of classes I to V on 20th August,2019. The students had their kitty full of entertainment. They enthralled the residents with their power packed performances like Bharatanatyam, Hindi Hasya Kavita, Skit and Poetry Recitation. Later they all hit the floor. The students enjoyed spending time with grandpas and grandmas.They presented them with gifts as a token of love.

Visit to ISKCON Temple

Visit to ISKCON Temple The school always thrives towards achieving value based progress in the children for an holistic development. And festivals are the best times to rekindle old values among children. On the occasion of Janmashtmi, the school organised a trip to the ISKCON temple Dwarka for the students of class I and II on 19 and 21 Aug respectively. Amidst chanting of mantra 'harey Rama....harey Krishna' , the students learnt about lord Krishna's life.

Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day Celebration Nothing brings people together like festivals do. They play a pivotal role in bringing people from every religious, economic and social background together. Events of historical significance, such as Independence Day provide the impetus for festivals. To inculcate moral values and keep the spirit of our traditions alive the students of classes I and II celebrated Independence Day in a unique and fun filled way. They made colourful collage which portrayed the essence of patriotism. The fervor of nationalism was kept alive through the passion and zeal with which the students of all classes commemorated the occasion.

CLAY MODELLING COMPETITION

CLAY MODELLING COMPETITION "Hands full of clay and hearts full of imagination ." Squashing, trampling and molding the clay becomes exciting for the young ones. It is a beautiful activity to develop a child's fine motor skills and imagination. On 19th July 2019, Clay Modeling Competition was organized for classes I and II under the guidance of teachers . Pride of squeezing, rolling and blending the clay to make some unique creations filled the little hearts with thrill and joy. The motive of this competition was to enhance eye-hand coordination, color recognition and give flight to their imagination. Children experienced the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction .Their beautiful and vibrant creations were well appreciated by Principal Ms. Karuna Verma .She interacted with the students and also expressed her desire to conduct more such activities .

Delhi Zonal Poster Making Competition

Delhi Zonal poster making Competition was held on 8th of August, 2019 at G.D Goenka Public School, Dwarka sec-10, in which Aayushi Choudhary (VI E) of Sam International School won 3rd position in junior girls’ category. She was appreciated by respected Principal Mam and the entire SAM team.

Papier Mache Competition in Delhi Zonals

Atish Kumar (IX A) of Sam International School, sec-12, Dwarka won 2nd position in Papier Mache Competition in Delhi Zonals held at Govt. Co-ed S.S.S, Site-II, Sec-6, Dwarka on 16th August, 2019. Atish carried forward the name and fame of the school in the Zonals on his responsible shoulders and give his school one more win to be proud of.

Delhi Zonal Drawing Competition

Anushka Prasad (VIII A) of SAM International School won the 2nd position in Delhi Zonal Drawing competition, which was held on 8th of August, 2019 at G.D Goenka Public School, Dwarka Sec-10. She won this prize in junior girls’ category with her excellent painting.

Taekwondo at 6th National Student Olympic Games

Success comes to those who work hard for it. Keeping this thought in mind, Piyush Priyam(XI C) and Shivam Drall (XII B) of Sam International School, Dwarka sec-12 have grabbed the gold in Taekwondo at 6th National Student Olympic Games held at Premnagar Ashram, Haridwar from 16th August-19 August, 2019. Piyush won in 68 kg Jr. Boys category and Shivam in 63 kg Sr. Boys category.

G.K Quiz Competition IX and X

Students of classes IX and X participated in the Inter-house G.K Quiz Competition, which was held on 14th of August, 2019 in Sam International School. The students were divided into 4 teams of four different houses and the theme of the competition was “Incredible India". Participants were asked different questions like Chandrayan II, Article 370 and 35 A, Mangalyan, and about different research and development programmes in India. Winners were awarded with prizes.

Delhi Zonal Poetry Competition

13th of August brought many smiles on the faces of Students and teachers of Sam International School, as Anjali of class XI A won 2nd position in the Delhi Zonal Poetry Competition, held at Maxfort School, Dwarka. Anjali chose a poem based on the theme of poverty and racism, to put forward her way of highlighting human plights and predicament in the poor suburbs. It was a thrilling performance. She received high praises by the Respected Principal Mam and the entire SIS Team.

Independence Day Celebration

Sam International School celebrated 73rd Indian Independence Day on 13th of August,2019. From the beginning to the end, the programme was flanked with different performances by the students of the school. It started with flag hoisting ceremony by the Hon. Chairman Sir, who was accompanied by the respected Principal Mam, Dhyani Sir and coordinators. It was followed by the national anthem sung melodiously by the school choir. School prime minister, Kirti Mondal delivered a speech after which the main events started. The main events of the programme were a patriotic group song by the middle wing of the school, followed by a mesmerizing classical dance performance by the students of middle wing. The last performance by the students of primary wing in the form of a dance drama, was one of the show stoppers. The ceremony ended with an informative and motivating vote of thanks by the respected Principal Mam.

Fancy Dress Competition "LEGENDS" The Saga Of Our National Heroes.

. We at SAM International school always strive to promote the spirit of oneness amongst the students through various activities. Keeping in with this thought a Fancy Dress Competition "LEGENDS" The Saga Of Our National Heroes was organized on 30th July 2019 for classes I and II. The purpose of blending learning with fun and to instill the spark of patriotism in the students was evident in their performance . They came dressed as their favorite National Hero perfectly enacted as one. It was a visual treat to see the little hearts trying to fit in big shoes. They left the judges and the audience mesmerized with their power packed performance.

Workshop on :'Phonological awareness of reading and speaking skills through experiential learning' and 'Story telling as a tool for teaching'.

On 29th June 2019 a workshop on 'Phonological awareness of reading and speaking skills through experiential learning " and 'Story telling as a tool for teaching' was conducted in the school premises by Ms. Alka Rai. The workshop was segregated in two segments. During the first half Ms Rai enriched our understanding of phonology and its importance in teaching and learning .For literacy development, phonemic awareness is the important process where children learn to hear and break down words into the individual sounds, blend sounds, and manipulate sounds to make new words. Storytelling has earned its place as the most important tradition humans possess. Ms Rai demonstrated interesting techniques like dramatization, voice modulation and expression which helps in making story telling effective and captivating. The workshop was not only interesting and engaging but it also helped in reinforcing and refining our understanding of phonology and story telling.

Hurrah!!! It’s school time again. After long vacations, kids were excited and curious . The teachers of Sam International School gave a warm welcome to our little ones on July 8, 2019 ( Monday).Loving teachers arranged a Story Enactment Session which was enjoyed by the Samites. The Pre School enjoyed the story ‘The Magic Tree’ and Pre Primary enjoyed ‘Monkeys and the capseller ‘. Kids were clapping and jumping on seeing their teachers as characters of the story. Overall it was a fun filled day and kids carried lots of sweet memories along with them.

To develop colour recognition and to activate cognitive skills of our little samites,we celebrate colour days . On July 9, 2019 , Pre Primary wing celebrated Green Colour Day along with the Pre School (Carnation). Special assembly, children spoke about different Green Colour object to recognise this vibrant colour of nature and harmony. They zestfully indulged themselves in playful activities. Pre Primary wing dressed in vibrant shades of green and holding green colour objects marked a memorable learning.

Morning assembly makes the students feel fresh, energetic with positive vibration. It boosts the hidden talents of the children. To enhance the value of ‘Plants and Trees’ Pre-Primary Angel Bird of Sam International School conducted a special assembly on July 12, 2019(Friday) on the topic “Parts of Plants”. Like our body have different parts, Plants also have different parts which helps them to perform various functions.

Our Samites shared some wonderful experience about 'My School' in the special assembly conducted by Pre- School Daffodil on July 11,2019 . Assembly started with the Gayatri Mantra followed by thought of the day. Little ones expressed their love and affection for the school and the school ambience.

To celebrate the style and to enhance speaking skills of our young samites ,Pre Primary wing organized a Fancy Dress Show on July 10 ,2019(Wednesday). The young show stoppers enthralled everyone with their graceful walk. Theme of the fancy dress was Trees/Plants and flowers.They spoke confidently along with the beautiful props, headgear and cutouts using colourful sheets, newspapers, real leaves etc. This activity helped to prove the hidden talent of kids which highlighted the confidence and the spirit to perform on stage.

EXCURSION TO CLUB PLATINUM

Keeping the spirit of adventure in mind, an educational excursion was organized for the students of III-VII of Sam International School to Club Platinum Resort, Bahadurgarh on 2nd February 2019. It was a part of their social development programme to enhance their interpersonal and social skills. Before departing, Principal Ms. Karuna Verma briefed the students on safety measures to be observed during a trip. The trip was made informative blended with fun and folic in the park. They enjoyed different rides, slides, seesaws and parallel bars along with their teachers, who assisted them with at most care, love and which gave them the warmth of togetherness. A splendid lunch was served where they would experience real life situations of sharing and caring, team spirit and feel the joy of being develop a sense of independent in their lives.

INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY

The students of class XIB conducted a special assembly to celebrate international jazz day.They told the relevance of the day in their informative speech. The assembly made the students aware about the day and its significance.

AWARENESS FOR VOTING

Why should we vote? We should vote to make our voice heard. Casting vote gives us the power to choose the most suitable candidate who can run the country. By voting, we can also decide who represents our city and country. Voting is a fundamental right of any citizen that enables them to choose the leaders of tomorrow .Voting is also a form of personal empowerment, giving individuals a chance to voice their opinions. It also helps citizens to realize the importance of citizenship. This is the only process that keeps a nation’s governmental system works. Voting enables the citizens to choose their own government. It also allows the people to choose their representatives in the government. On the day of the election, voters won’t just have the capacity to choose their representatives in government for the following term, and they can also decide on measures like security issues that admit the government authority to borrow funds for development projects and different advancements.

FIRE DRILL

A fire drill is a method of practising how a building would be evacuated in the event of a fire or other emergencies. A mock fire and evacuation drill involving students and fire fighters was conducted at SAM International School to create awareness among the student community of fire fighting techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergency situation. The fire fighters explained and demonstrated different improvised methods being followed by them to rescue and evacuate people caught in such emergency situation besides explaining the ways to operate the fire extinguishers safely

BIRTHDAY BASH (APRIL- MAY)

Today on May 4, 2019 Pre-Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the birthdays of their little samites born in the month of April and May. The excitement on the faces of our little angels was evident as they entered the premises adorned with balloons, cakes and gifts. Special gifts were presented as they indulged in the cake cutting ceremony by our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma. A token of love in the form of dance performance was given by little samites. Parents eagerly participated in fun filled activities. The joy got doubled when some lucky parents won surprise gifts for Rapid Fire Questionnaire. Little birthday kids rejoiced their favorite day with their parents and their beloved teacher

BLUE COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION (PRE PRIMARY WING)

Colours are like food for the spirit. At Sam International School, learning about colours is an important concept for which we regularly organise ‘colour days’ . Tiny tots of Pre School were introduced to the warmest and cool colour ‘Blue’ on May 9 , 2019 . They were dressed in vibrant shades of blue , every child followed the theme perfectly and were made to identify everything blue through various class activities. They brought blue colour objects and were involved in fun filled activities like colouring activity and rhymes on blue colour day . It was a fun & frolic day for the little SAMites.

CLEANLINESS PROMOTES BETTER HEALTH

Cleanliness is the act of keeping our body, mind and surroundings clean. Keeping this in mind, Pre School (Aster) presented a special assembly on May 2 , 2019 . The students shared their thoughts by showing alluring props on how to keep ourselves and our surroundings clean by reciting rhyme ‘ Bits of paper’

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE (K.G WING)

To beat the heat in the scorching summer, the students of Pre-Primary organized a “cooking without fire” on May 15, 2019. The enrichment activity was done to cool down with a lemonade drink, by using fresh lemons, black salt, powdered sugar, black pepper, and mint leaves. They enthusiastically observed the ingredients and recall the steps involved. Little samites wholeheartedly enjoyed the activity and also the lemonade drink till the last sip.

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE (NURSERY)

Young learners are very much fond of eating sandwiches keeping this desire in mind the samites of Pre School participated in enrichment activity cooking without fire on 14th May 2019.The teachers showed how to make sandwich using healthy ingredients like bread, mayonnaise , ketchup, salt and vegetables (cucumber & tomato) etc. They also learnt the nutritional value of the sandwich. The samites enjoyed and relished the easy cheesy vegetable sandwich .Another enrichment activity peeling of banana was done by preschool They enjoyed and learnt how to peel a banana.

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION (PRE PRIMARY (EAGLE))

To celebrate the efforts of Labour , Pre Primary (Eagle) presented a vibrant assembly on May 1 , 2019 . Tiny tots by showing their alluring and colourful props expressed their views in front of their peer group. The children also highlighted the efforts of labour through Role Play and recited rhymes related to different labours like cobbler , vegetable seller , barber etc . The students showed their gratitude towards the support staff by making beautiful cards and bouquet for them.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION (PRE PRIMARY WING)

At Sam International School, it was time to celebrate this incredible sentiment with the beautiful occasion knocking at the door ! Pre School ( Bluebells)& Pre Primary ( Flamingo) celebrated Mother’s Day on May 8, 2019 by conducting a special class assembly where they danced and also shared their thoughts on Mother’s Day . On the occasion, mothers were also invited from the respective classes to volunteer and showcase their talent by participating in fun filled activities like , Talent show ( singing, dancing) , cooking without fire ,best out of waste and Ramp walk( Retro theme). The celebration got doubled when mothers won titles (Ms. High heels,Ms. Beautiful smile,Ms. Catwalk, Ms.Beautiful hair style )and gifts were given as a token of love for their efforts. Our Respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Karuna Verma wished the mothers on their special day & acknowledged the efforts of all the mothers to make it a memorable day.

PURPLE COLOUR DAY (PRE PRIMARY WING)

Purple colour day was celebrated by Pre Primary Wing on May 9, 2019, to make Little ones aware about different colours . Purple, the colour of the future, imagination & dreams always fascinate us. Tiny tots were beautifully dressed in purple and actively participated in the fun filled colouring activity and enjoyed rhymes .They also brought many purple colour objects like toys , fruits and vegetables. It turned out to be a remarkable day filled with fun and enthusiasm.

CULINARY QUEEN CONTEST

To add festivity to this mother’s day ‘A Culinary Queen Contest’ was held for the mothers of students of class 1 and 2 on 10th may 2019 in the school premise. The contestants left no stone unturned to prove that they are the best cooks in the whole world by preparing yummy licious dishes. The winners were awarded with certificates and prizes by our honorable principal Ma’am Ms Karuna Verma.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Of all the gifts life has to offer, a loving mother is the greatest of them. She is the epitome of love and sacrifice. The very word brings a bundle of emotions. To make this Mother’s Day special the students of class 1 and 2 celebrated the occasion with much pomp and grandeur. A special assembly was conducted by them where the children expressed their love for their mothers through a special song, dance, and poem. The winners of “Best Candid Picture” were given certificates and prizes by our honorable principal Ma’am Ms Karuna Verma. The most endearing moment was when Priddhi Agarwal made her mother proud by winning a special cash award for her performance in Olympiad.

LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION

SAM International School celebrated the first day of May as Labour Day to acknowledge the efforts of all the workers. On the occasion, our worthy Chairman sir and Principal Ms Karuna Verma distributed eatables to the labours working in the school to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts. A Card Making Competition was organized and the students expressed their gratitude to the labours by presenting cards to them as a mark of respect.

WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DAY CELEBRATION

Students of class XI A conducted a special Assembly to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day. This day is observed annually on 26 April.The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to "raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life" and "to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe" Our students described the significance of this day through their speeches and ideas.

WORLD BOOK AND COPYRIGHT DAY

World Book Day is a celebration of books, authors, and illustrators but most importantly it is the celebration of reading. Students of class X C of SAM International conducted a special assembly to celebrate this day and to promote reading, publishing, and copyright.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON BODY PARTS

A special assembly was conducted by Pre- School (Blue Bells) of Sam International School on April 23, 2019. We at Sam always look for innovating and interesting methods to introduce different topics. It was an attempt towards making children aware of different body parts. Students excitedly presented a skit and recited rhyme on the topic ‘Body Parts’ by showing their colorful props. The assembly indeed focused on making children familiarize with the different body parts.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON ORANGE COLOR DAY

To recapitulate orange colour, Pre-Primary Dove of Sam International School conducted a special assembly on April 24, 2019 . SAMites used different orange colour props, recited rhyme on orange colour. It was a great learning experience for the little ones as it helps in strengthening the ability to identify the colours which is considered as a milestone in child’s cognitive development.

MOTHER EARTH DAY

A special assembly was conducted by Pre-Primary (Canary) of Sam international School on 22nd April 2019 on the occasion of ‘Mother Earth Day’. To dedicate this day to our Dear Mother Earth students demonstrate the support and concern for environmental protection. They also sensitized their peer group about the importance of planting the trees and they happily participated in watering the plant activity. Keeping this in view, Pre- School (Aster) children confidently recited the rhyme on water animals. The eye catching props added icing to the cake.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON SELF INTRODUCTION

Morning Assembly at Sam International School is a chance for the students to connect with each other & begin the day with a feeling of happiness and togetherness. The day started with the prayer, ’God’s love’ followed by Gayatri Mantra, thought of the day and the special class assembly on self introduction conducted by Pre-School Daffodil on April 26,2019. Tiny tots confidently introduced themselves and spoke about their class, school, likes and dislikes. Their attempt to hold the mike developed their socio emotional skills as well. The main objective of the assembly was to develop speaking skills of the little ones. The assembly concluded with the fitness drill.

WORLD EARTH DAY

We are the one who made it happen.We are the one who can make it right. Earth day was celebrated by the students of Junior wing (classes 1 to 5) today during the school assembly. The young SAMiets presented a plethora of activities which focused on spreading awareness and educating about the proactive step that needs to be taken to protect our environment.The children voiced their views with a dance and poetry, all calling for the attention of people towards the deteriorating condition of our planet. A rally was also taken out by the students to propagate the theme of 2019 Earth Day 'Protect Our Species'.

RED COLOR DAY CELEBRATED BY PRE-PRIMARY WING

“Color Red makes everyone smile as it is the color of love, life and victory” Colors are everywhere and it is always a wonderful experience to make children learn colors. To develop strong cognitive skills our tiny tots of Pre-School were introduced to first primary color by celebrating Red Color Day on April 18, 2019 with some effective and innovative classroom activities. The tiny tots came adorably dressed up in red clothes. They also brought red color fruits/objects to share with their buddies. Pre-School Carnation also conducted a special assembly on Red Color Day.

ORANGE COLOR DAY CELEBRATED BY PRE-PRIMARY WING

“Orange is the color of sun that gives energy” The children of Pre-Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated Orange Color Day on April 18 , 2019. The teachers and kids both came in harmonious shades of Orange and enjoyed the mood of happiness. The kiddies of Pre-Primary excitedly participated in the activities done in the class. Children brought orange color fruit/object and shared with their peer group. It was indeed a pleasure to witness little ones dressed up in orange bubbling with energy.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION CELEBRATED BY PRE-PRIMARY WING

“Let’s all sing and dance and celebrate the festival of Baisakhi” The harvest festival of Baisakhi was celebrated by the students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary with lot of enthusiasm and gaiety through a special assembly on April 12, 2019. Children thoroughly enjoyed the enactment done by the teachers on Baisakhi which helped them to know that this is the beginning of New Year .On this day Guru Gobind Singh the tenth guru of the Sikhs laid the foundation of Panth Khalsa-the order of the pure ones. On Baisakhi Gurdwaras are decorated and hold kirtans, Sikhs visit and bathe in lakes or rivers before visiting local Gurdwaras,community fairs and nagar kirtan processions are held and people gather to socialize and share festive foods. The celebration concluded by students and teachers dancing joyously to Punjabi folk music.

ASSEMBLY ON GOOD HABITS

“The First Wealth is Health”Good habits play an important role in one’s life, keeping this in mind a special assembly was conducted by Pre- Primary Angel of Sam International School on 10th April 2019. Children shared the importance of Good Habits like brushing teeth, combing hair, wearing clean clothes etc. Little SAMites enthusiastically recited the rhyme which was enhanced by beautiful and colorful props. The assembly concluded with the fitness drill which was thoroughly enjoyed by the children.

AMBEDKAR JAYANTI

Saluting the spirit of nationalism "Cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence".A special assembly was presented by the students of class II on 11th April,2019 to pay a tribute to Dr. B R Ambedkar. The students beautifully depicted his works and achievements in an innovative manner. Lauding their efforts, Principal Ms. Karuna Verma, encouraged the students to be determined and work relentlessly to pursue their dreams and goals. It was a great learning experience for the young spectators.

SAND TRACING

The students of class 1 of SAM International school had great fun tracing letters and shapes in sand. Playing in the sand can be a great opportunity for children to have unstructured play time. Learning to write on the sand, making shapes and patterns on it teaches children important concepts of language, problem solving and aids in cognitive development. It also develops their fine mortar skills and hand-eye coordination. Sand tracing is also beneficial for developing a sense of textures.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION

Baisakhi was celebrated with zeal and zest on 12 April 2019. In the morning assembly, students of class X A highlighted the significance of the festival. Students of Primary Wing presented a ‘gidda’ to mark the occasion. The students enjoyed the celebration and enhanced their knowledge about the harvest festival. The principal Ms Karuna Verma encouraged the students to know about our rich culture and heritage.

GURU MEETS GURU

“Not only have you been a fantastic mentor to me, but you have taught me how to mentor other people. Thank you for being such a great role model.”These were the humble expressions of our worthy chairman sir Mr Praveen Kumar when he met his school time Principal , Mr Y P Purang , an exemplary and visionary man and a great leader after a long period of 48 years. It was a heart touching sight and made everyone nostalgic to see a GURU meeting his Guru. Mr Purang visited the school and interacted with students and teachers. He motivated the young learners and congratulated the winners of various competitions.

Students presented their views actively and profoundly with confidence and took a pledge as well in regards to the same. It was a well executed effort.

A plethora of activities were organised to create awareness on the importance of eating nutritious foods.The events included a video , visit by dietician Ms. Jyotsna , a skit on Junk Food v/s Healthy Food followed by Yoga and exercise.

The importance of exercise and eating healthy food is something they learnt through the video shown by the teachers.

ENGLISH CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION

SAM International organised an English Calligraphy Competition on 3 April 2019 to improve presentation skills and to inculcate habit of good handwriting among students. All students of grades III to XII participated in the competition. The assessment was done on the basis of writing style, curves and patterns, legibility, neatness, beautification, etc.

WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY

The 2nd of April is World Autism Awareness Day. The students of class XII A of SAM International School conducted a special assembly to spread the message that it's OK to be different! They emphasized that the right support for children with Autism makes an enormous difference in their lives.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM (2019-20) OF CLASS III TO VIII

An orientation program for classes III -VIII was organized on 30th March, 2019 to familiarize the parents about the school's vision and its policies, The Principal Ms Karuna Verma briefed the parents about the assessment criteria and also shared valuable information on parenting, importance of discipline, punctuality etc. She urged parents to work as a team with the teachers to bring out the best in students. It was an enriching and interactive session.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM (2019-20) OF PRE-SCHOOL AND PRE-PRIMARY

Sam International School organised an Orientation Programme for the parents of Pre -School and Pre- Primary on 29th March,2019 in school. The aim was to familiarize the parents as "Partners in progress" with the teaching methodologies, co-scholastic activities and with the curriculum. The session started with a welcome note by Ms. Rashi Dhimaan, Coordinator of Pre- School & Pre- Primary . Furthermore, parents were briefed about the curriculum by Ms. Charu (Founder and CEO of Skills And You) which is one of the leading education enterprise certified by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). The school principal Ms. Karuna Verma shared the school vision and shared her valuable tips on Good Parenting. Dr. Jyotsna, Dietician counselled the parents on 'Importance of Nutritious Diet' .The respective teachers introduced themselves to the parents. The programme ended with a good note of making our tiny buds blossom into beautiful flowers.

The orientation program for classes I and II was organised on 28th March, 2019. The Principal Ms Karuna Verma briefed the parents about the school's system,it's vision and shared valuable tips on 'Good Parenting'.The guest of honour Dr Jyotsna held a session on the 'Importance of nutritious diet'. It was a good interactive session with the parents.

To celebrate the birthday bash of our February and March born kids. SAM International School organized a special party on 9th March, 2019. The little angles came in beautiful dresses along with their parents. Colourful balloons, gifts, mouth watering cakes added charm to their celebration. Our Honourable Principal Ms. Karuna Verma congratulated the little ones and their parents. Fun and enthusiasm got multiplied when parents eagerly participated in funfilled games and dance. Some lucky parents also won surprise gifts in Rapid fire questionnaire and balloon dance.

BLESSING CEREMONY

SAM International School organized Blessing Ceremony for the students of class XII in order to boost up their morale and wish them good luck for their upcoming Board Examinations. On 23 February, 2018, the teachers, parents and students of class 12 assembled to celebrate an occasion of an end and of a beginning, the end of a safely supervised school life and a beginning of a life in the “real world”. A sacred Hawan was performed to take the blessings of Almighty. The Hawan ceremony was followed by the blessing ceremony and lunch. Unforgettable memories of joys and anxieties, of sharing and of pride were shared by the students. The event was laced with the blessings and good wishes of the teachers for their students reflecting their pure love and hope for their bright future. The school Principal, Ms. Karuna Verma in her address to the students of class XII said that success doesn’t come by chance; a consistent, committed and rigorous practice is required to achieve success in any sphere of life.

SERVING COMMUNITY

‘Walk For Life’ is an annual walkathon organized by CanSupport to raise awareness about rising incidence of cancer in India and to show solidarity with those suffering from cancer. Can Support’s ‘Walk For Life’ – Stride Against Cancer event has become a much talked about and awaited annual feature of SAM International School. Our school participated in a rally‘Walk for Life’ to support cancer patients on February 3, 2019 at Rajpath. The school encourages children to take part in such activities of community service. It helps to develop students as responsible citizens of our country.

SPEAKING SKILL ACTIVITY

Sam International School conducts ‘Speaking Skill ‘activity on every Wednesday. This Wednesday January 30, 2019 our topic was “Community Helpers.” It is vital to prepare students to recognize community helpers who are there to protect and serve us. Children beautifully dressed up as Doctor, Policeman, Farmer and Teacher and spoke few lines about the duties and responsibilities of the community helpers. They excitedly represent the community helpers. The activity also aimed at developing a sense of gratitude amongst the students for those who are there to serve us.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at SAM International School on 25th January 2019. Honourable chairman hoisted the National Flag and the students saluted the flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is ‘India. The students presented an Act, a Patriotic Song, Nukkad Natak, Orchestra and a Dance“ .The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were spellbinding. Principal, Ms Karuna Verma, addressed the students and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indians.

Special gifts were presented as they indulged in the cake cutting ceremony by our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma. A token of love in the form of dance performance was given by little samites. Parents eagerly participated in fun filled musical chair. The joy got doubled when some lucky parents won surprise gifts for Rapid Fire Questionnaire. Little birthday kids rejoiced their favorite day of the year with their peers, parents and their beloved teachers.

SPEAKING SKILL ACTIVITY - STORY TELLING

Story Telling is the most powerful way to put ideas into world: Story telling captures an aspect of childhood experience when being told a story was a common ritual. To keep the tradition of story telling going on and to incite curiosity, Sam International School conducts speaking skill activity every Wednesday. This Wednesday January 16, 2019 Pre-School narrated the story 'The Thirsty Crow' and Pre-Primary narrated the story 'Monkeys and The Capselller'. To captivate the attention, students made effective use of facial expressions, gestures and voice modulation by showing them their colourful props.

INDIAN ARMY DAY

To salute the Indian Army on the Army Day on 15 January, SAM International School dedicated the school assembly to these indomitable guardians of our country. Students of class VI C paid their tribute to the gallant Indian Army through various activities (speech, poem banners, etc). SAM feels proud to have had the opportunity to show our gratitude to the Indian Army – men who, willingly and selflessly, are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the country and serve us with a smile. ​J​ai Hind!!!

MAKAR SANKRANTI

"A beautiful, bright and delighted day, Sun entered into makar to intense the ray ". Makar sankranti, the festival of kites was celebrated on 14th January. It literally means movement of the sun into Capricorn. Makar sankranti is celebrated throughout India with splendour and glory. The celebration of sankranti reached a crescendo as the tiny tots of Sam International School, Dwarka celebrated the festival in the school premises on 14th January 2019.The children were told about the importance of Makar sankranti by showing a video on smart board . The students relished hot halwa. A loud cheer of "Happy Makar Sankranti "boomed while decorating the colorful kites by the Pre-Primary wing.

BEAUTY OF MATHEMATICS ACTIVITY

An Inter-house Maths activity 'Fun with Mathematics' was held on July 24, 2018. Different topics were given to the classes. Class III – Fun with Shapes Students created many designs using different shapes like joker, scenery, robots etc. Class IV – Creating different types of pattern (geometrical, number etc.) They used different shapes and arranged them in a sequence. Class V – Tessellation and Rangoli pattern They joined different shapes in an order to create a tilted pattern.

SOCIAL SCIENCE QUIZ COMPETITION

To inculcate love for Hindi language, Hindi Diwas was celebrated on September 14, 2018 with great zeal and zest. A Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was organized to commemorate the day to celebrate our National Language. DUSSEHRA CELEBRATION

Pre-Primary wing celebrated Dussehra on September 16, 2018(Tuesday) in the school premises. Students celebrated Dussehra by participating in a special assembly where tiny tots of Pre-School and Pre-Primary classes enacted a short skit depicting 'Ramayana'. The burning of Ravana effigies by our respected Principal ma'am took place as a final part at the end.

INTER HOUSE HINDI SKIT COMPETITION OF CLASS III-V

Inter House Hindi Skit Competition was organized for classes III to V on May 10, 2018. A group of students from each house presented their ideas in the form of a small play. The students performed very well and were able to leave an impact on the minds of the audience. They presented their skits on various topics like Gyan Marg, Vardaan Ban Gaya Abhishap, Mehnat Ka Phal and Kaam Hi Pooja Hai. This Competition helped the students to gain confidence and enabled them to work in groups ensuring cooperation and team spirit. All the participants performed really well and gave us some fruitful moral messages. PAPER BAG MAKING ACTIVITY

With a view to create awareness about environment and hazards of using plastic bags, an inter-class Paper Bag Making Activity for classes III-V was held on July 10, 2018. All the students participated enthusiastically and came up with wonderful paper bags with eye-catching slogans written on them. The Competition succeeded in achieving the purpose.

POSTER MAKING COMPETITION

To bring out the creative expression of the students and also to gauge their awareness quotient, a Poster Making Competition was organized for classes VI to XII on July 11, 2018. The themes taken for the above were 'Save Earth, Save Life' and World Population Day'. The aim of this competition was not merely to see the creative aspect but also to trigger the thought process of the children and sensitize them towards these burning and serious issues. This Competition also helped to make the students aware of their responsibilities towards maintaining the ecological balance and motivated them to contribute in their own specific ways to make “Mother Earth” a better place to live. WORD PRO CONTEST

Our Heartiest congratulations to Gurpreet Singh of class VIII A for reaching in Top Ten Finalists after qualifying all the rounds of Word Pro Quiz Contest organised by Dwarka City. He also got 4th Position in the written test in Dwarka where approx 3000 students participated.

FREE HAND DRAWING

The world of colours and FREE HAND DRAWING give the students the power of self expression. The M.F. Hussains of classes I & II showcased their skills by participating in Free Hand Drawing Competition on April 19, 2018. It was a mass participation and the winners of the competition were given prizes by the Principal maam.

HINDI RHYME RECITATION

Rhyme recitation has always led individuals to express them. The pre-primary wing kids gained vocabulary and confidence by taking part in Hindi rhyme recitation.
